This seems crazy, but it works July 19, 2010 Chris (Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book makes extremely valid points that ring very true. The author then directs you to write out your goals etc. on 3 x 5 cards, place them around the house, and read them every time you go by. I thought this was completely nuts at first, and only did it because I was really being held back mentally and was willing to give anything a try. At first it felt ridiculous. I would read my goal and think "this is as unrealistic as saying 'I am a millionaire.'" But, lo and behold, by using this technique and others from the book for only 7 months, I realized the other day that my goal statement is well on its way to being accurate. My sports performance has improved dramatically, and I find these techniques helpful in other situations as well. A concrete, systematic way to work on the mental part of your game, just like you'd work on the rest of it. If you try it, I don't think you'll regret it.
Winning being the key word July 1, 2010 Marie-diane Hudon (Dallas, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a problem in golf tournaments where my anxiety was taking over. I had a tournament after I read the first 2 chapters and my anxiety dropped by 90%. At my second tournament with 4 chapters read I won. Need I say more? This book will change your attitude in tournaments and you will win.
With Winning in Mind June 15, 2010 Robert J. Connolly Jr. 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book, if you follow the author's directions, will help you improve performance in almost anything you choose. It helped me to improve my archery scores by at least 20%. A must read for anyone who wants or needs to improve performance in competition, business or just about any part of your life.
I would buy it again! May 4, 2010 Richard Wilson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although, I think this author is a bit too humble about his "LACK" of ability (after all he did win a Gold Medal at the Olympics and many other World Championships) his advice is dead on and solid. I would purchase this book and follow his advice again.
Competitive Edge March 28, 2010 Paul R. (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Find, build, or regain your competitive edge. The mental management system is an effective way to train your mind and body to work in sync. This book can be used for anything from changing your attitude to winning a gold medal in the olympics.
Bassham states (something like): You're either going to start doing what you say, or stop saying it.
So true.
The system has worked for me in a number of applications. Give it a shot, it's well worth the price of admission.
Six stars.
